Marcus Warner
As much as we need to know about Jesus and grow our trust with Him, we also need to have a functional knowledge of spiritual warfare. This book is a quick read, with discussion questions, prayers, and examples of people using the tools,
My favorite things were the helpful ways to remember the tools. One of these is the word SOUL-L, as in, there is a battle for your soul.
-Sin. Instead of repenting of our sins, we justify and give the devil greater access into our lives.
-Occult. Any time we seek power that is not of God, we establish fellowship with demons.
-Unforgiveness. The bondage created by bitterness and unforgiveness can’t help but affect those around us.
-Lies. John 8:44 says that the devil is the father of lies. Lies cause anxiety in our lives.
-Lineage. Because of the activities of our family, the devil can have greater permission to be active in our lives-and we don’t even know about it.
The other memory device comes from Dr. Karl Payne. It is the 4 C’s:
-Confess. Whatever activity needs to be renounced, confess it.
-Cancel. Ask Jesus to cancel any claim that any demon may have against you in the courtroom of heaven. The book explains more about this.
-Command. In the name of Jesus, command the spirits assigned to you to leave, go to the place where the Lord Jesus sends you, and take all of your works and affects with you.
-Commit. Commit this area of your life to Jesus.
There are many prayers written out for battling in the spiritual realm. In the picture is a fantastic exercise if you are struggling with your thought life, especially around a certain person or yourself.
For anyone who is a believer, these tools are a necessary part of your toolbox. You can find the link to order at: deeperwalk.org
