The Steps to Freedom in Christ
Freedom in Christ, participant's guide
Neil T. Anderson & Steve Goss, Neil T. Anderson
These two books went hand in hand in equipping me to resolve personal and spiritual conflicts, and become a fruitful disciple of Jesus. My friends and I went through “Freedom in Christ” together, then we walked through “The Steps” book. On theRightNow media app, rightnowmedia.org there are videos that go along with each book. There is also an app at Freedom In Chrificm.org where I was able to put into words any strongholds the devil had over my thoughts and life, replace them with truth, and receive a reminder notification daily to read it out loud.
I really liked the way the authors explain how negative emotions can be a positive indicator. Anger can signal a blocked life-goal. If I have a life-goal of having a happy, harmonious Christian family, who can block that goal? Every family member can! Depression can signal an impossible life-goal. If I align my goals with God’s goals for me, the sense of hopelessness and helplessness when I have unrealistic expectations dissipates.
The battle for my mind is real. Satan wants to deceive me, and he attaches himself to the wounds and trauma in my life. The lies my mind formed when I was hurt have everything to do with my responses: just ask my husband. I will not be able to think and have right responses until I pull out the lies and unforgiveness settled into my heart.
In the steps, Dr. Anderson walks through resolving any issues that are standing in between me and God. Once these issues of non-Christian experiences and deceptions are brought into the light, I could renounce the hold the enemy had on my thoughts and life. This breaking of strongholds has catapulted my healing process forward, moving me towards God and replacing any lies with His truth.
I can help you realign your life with God’s goals for you. The answers are waiting inside you.
