God will move mountains if you're willing to give Him the glory.
I've lived in this area of North Idaho for over half my life. My sister is here, it's a beautiful place, and it doesn't get as much snow as where I'm from in Montana and Wyoming. However, my son moved his family to North Dakota about nine years ago, and my daughter recently moved to Boise for a great job.
My husband and I went down to Boise over the Easter weekend, and he was offered a business opportunity by my father-in-law. As I was praying and processing, we discussed it and decided this was the right move to make due to some health and job issues, plus the draw of family and our daughter there.
Last fall my husband and I had put money down on a different home here as we were looking to downsize, but we had our home on the market for months and didn't have hardly any action, even though it was supposed to be a seller's market. It was really frustrating losing that money, but we didn't see any way to make that sale work without the sale of our current home going through.
This time, however, I really sensed that God was drawing us to Boise, for multiple reasons. I asked a good friend, whose husband is a realtor, if he would mind working on selling the house for us. Right when we met him, Scooter set our minds at ease. He believed that he could sell our home for the amount we needed to get from it, and he immediately went to work setting us up for success, between holding an open house the first weekend and all the individual showings.
God has his hands all over this move. He is quieting my anxieties and preparing me to be able to leave behind my community of friends and my sister. As I stay focused on Him and trust that He's making a way for us, His peace continues to rest in my heart, despite all the swirling around me.
Even on Monday, I heard from several people how much the housing market has taken a downturn; it's taking longer for homes to sell and the interest rates aren't helping. As people try to place their anxieties on me, I'm just brushing them off and standing on the solid rock of Christ, where there is no sifting sand.
It only took four days for God to provide a buyer who was willing to offer even more than what we asked for, in a time frame that will work for us. As Scooter stood in our kitchen telling us the deal, he was so excited! A couple of times he talked about how God must have moved to make this sale happen so perfectly.
God loves to show off when we will give Him all the glory! A big thank you to Scooter Gillis and Corey Ray for having a big part, as well! I so appreciate your hard work!
