Someone smarter than me
will have to do the math.
If I keep my children in a box,
protecting them from everything, and everybody,
what will THEIR legacy be?
Same box-only smaller?
One of fear, control,
away from the world?
It will be hard to leave my
children a vast, dazzling world,
if I never let them test the waters.
Walking to grandma's houseto play the piano,
drinking out of the garden hose,
Riding bikes to a friend's house, or the library?
The feeling of safety, in the house
with me alone, is a lie.
"If I'm not in control, something bad will happen."
What if they're supposed to be a kite, and fly?

From a prompt, fractals- a geometric shape that repeats itself, sometimes getting smaller.
When I looked it up later, the getting smaller wasn't in the definition, but it is in the art.
Much of nature, like leaves, flower petals, and seashells contain fractals.
